The Australian National University (ANU) has been awarded more than $1.87 million in funding through the latest Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Projects (Round 2), supporting research collaborations with government and international partners across a range of disciplines.

The funded projects span environmental governance, renewable energy transitions, astronomy, and population health, reflecting the breadth of research engagement with industry and policy partners at ANU.

The successful projects include:

  • Associate Professor Eva Nisa - Ecotheology: Religion, State, and Environmental Governance in Indonesia ($481,080)
  • Dr Noelia Martinez Rey - Multiphysics Framework for Adaptive Optics and Astronomical Instrumentation ($402,906)
  • Professor Christian Downie - Transition Dynamics in Australia’s Renewable Energy Superpower Partners ($155,259)
  • Dr Jennifer Welsh - Optimising linked data assets for enhanced population health monitoring ($833,354)

These projects bring together ANU researchers and partners including the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, and the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.

ANU Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation), Professor Stuart Wyithe, congratulated the successful teams.

“These grants are a testament to the quality and impact of research happening at ANU. Securing industry and partner support through ARC Linkage is a strong signal that our researchers are tackling challenges that matter to Australia and the world,” said Professor Wyithe.
