We have a range of programs for Australian citizens undertaking an undergraduate degree at ANU or another tertiary institution in Australia who have an interest in learning more about research and careers in national security.
Co-Lab Honours Grant
The ASD-ANU Co-Lab is proud offer the Co-Lab Honours Grant, a unique program designed to accelerate career opportunities and provide highly skilled graduates to meet ASD's growing workforce requirements.
This grant will allow ANU honours students to access bespoke training opportunities and network with peers, professionals, and researchers interested in national intelligence and security. There's also $9,500 in funding available for up to 30 students.
Applicants may be enrolled in any honours program in the University, but must be Australian citizens. The Co-Lab assesses applicants and their proposed projects based on the research interests and needs of ASD at the time, usually favouring those comprising computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics and linguistics.

Summer Research Projects
Summer Research Projects are designed for talented students from ANU and other tertiary institutions considering undertaking postgraduate research in the future. They provide an excellent opportunity to carry out real-world research under the supervision of ANU researchers.
The Co-Lab is proud to support a number of domestic students each summer undertaking ANU projects that are of interest to ASD. Financial support can be provided as well as access to the Co-Lab study spaces and mentors. Co-Lab has recently supported projects from the following Colleges:

n-Way Handshake events
At Co-Lab, we run monthly n-Way Handshake networking events for Australian students. These events are an opportunity to hear what it's like in a typical and perhaps not-so-typical working day at ASD, and sometimes cover more technical subjects. ASD experts are available to answer any questions you might have and it's a good way to meet like-minded students and researchers.
