ARC open access policy

ARC open access policy

The ARC policy states all research publications resulting from projects supported by ARC Funding Rules and Agreements released after 1 January 2013 will be required to be deposited into an open access institutional repository within 12 months from the date of publication. The ANU Research repository will assist researchers with this new requirement.

NHMRC open access mandate

From July 2012 journal articles resulting from an NHMRC grant will need to be posted in an institutional repository within 12 months of publication. The NHMRC announced they have revised their policy on the dissemination of results. The ANU Research repository will assist researchers with this new requirement.

The Open Access Research collection has clocked up its 4000th deposit, a paper by the Vice Chancellor Professor Ian Young. Combined with the Digital Theses collection, the amount of available ANU research is increasing daily.

Making PhD theses available

The Australian National University encourages PhD graduates to share their theses with the world, by adding them to ANU Research.

The ANU Digital Theses Collection holds hundreds of past PhDs. More information about depositing PhDs is found on the Thesis pages.

Submit the correct version of work

Submit the correct version of work

Because publishers usually don't allow open display of their formatted pdf, it is important for all ANU staff to keep the final peer reviewed and corrected version of their work.

This is the version most likely to have copyright permission for open access.

Money for publication - did you know?

Money for publication - did you know?

The 2012 rules for ARC Discovery Project grants allow you to spend up to 2% of grant money on publication, and strongly encourage deposit of work in institutional repositories.

Welcome to the ANU Research repository, our online location for collecting, maintaining and disseminating the scholarly output of the University. This service allows members of the University to share research with the wider community. ANU Research accepts journal articles, conference papers, book chapters, working or technical papers and other forms of scholarly communication.

ANU Research adheres to copyright restrictions placed on scholarly materials by authors and publishers. We will check the publisher policies for submitted materials and if allowed, these articles will be made freely available under open access conditions through ANU Research and global search engines such as Google.

You are invited to submit the Accepted Version (your final peer reviewed and corrected version) of papers that have been published or accepted for publication. Note that generally, copyright restrictions mean we are not able to make the Publisher Version (their pdfs) of articles available.

You are also able to submit other documents to ANU Research. Non-text items may require more time to process. This is an evolving service, and will improve significantly over time. Please let us know if you have any comments about the service.
